Making life more meaningful

In his book The Shift, Wayne Dyer shares Sir Lauren van der Post’s decription of  how the Bushmen of the Kalahari Desert talk about having two hungers, the Great Hunger and the Little Hunger.  The Little Hunger is about wanting food to eat, but the Great Hunger, the greatest hunger of all, is the hunger for meaning in life. He goes on to say that meaning transfigues all, and that once what you are doing has meaning, it is irrelevant wether you’re happy or unhappy.

How do you define yourself?

Do you define yourself by what you have or by what you do?

How much is the way that you see yourself influenced by the way that other people see you?

How authentic are you?

What would it take to shift the way that you currently see yourself and the world so that life has more meaning?

What would it take for you to let go of your ego and to develop more humility,  to learn to trust rather than trying to control, and to let go of your attachment to being right all the time?
